In a glorious tribute to its Golden Jubilee year, Indian School Muscat had the distinguished privilege of hosting the grand valedictory ceremony for the esteemed ‘Ambassador’s Cup 2025.’ This visionary initiative, facilitated by the Embassy of India, under the aegis of Board of Directors of Indian Schools in Oman, is dedicated to fostering sporting excellence among Indian schools in Oman. The event, held on 9th February 2025, offered a unique opportunity for the school garnered with the highest number of points across a diverse range of sports and games, to be honoured with the coveted Ambassador’s Rolling Trophy. Indian School Muscat witnessed an overwhelming presence of the vibrant and spirited participants, hailing from 17 prestigious Indian schools across the Sultanate of Oman.
The majestic procession of contingents from these schools was a striking display of unity and dedication with their synchronized movements echoing with precision. The rhythmic drumming elevated the moment, amplifying the pride and grandeur of the occasion and creating an unforgettable spectacle of collective strength. His Excellency Shri Amit Narang, Ambassador of India to the Sultanate of Oman, graced the event as the Chief Guest, with Dr. Sivakumar Manickam, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Indian Schools in Oman, presiding over the function. Also in attendance were Mr. Syed Salman, Vice Chairman, Mr. Nidheesh Kumar, Finance Director from the Board of Directors, esteemed Directors of the Board of Directors of Indian Schools in Oman, Mr. Sherry Johny, Vice President of the Indian School Muscat Management Committee, along with other esteemed members of the School Management Committee, the Presidents of the School Management Committees of the participating Indian Schools, Principals of the participating Indian Schools, the school Principal, Mr. Rakesh Joshi, Senior Vice-Principal Administration, Vice-Principals, Assistant Vice-Principals, faculty, students and their parents.
The drill display by the primary children stood as a resplendent embodiment of dedication and camaraderie. The magnificent formation of the ISM@50 logo by Class IV students was a masterclass in precision and coordination, a true reflection of their impeccable teamwork. In his address, the Chief Guest commended on the exceptional achievements of famous sports personalities and urged the students to embrace sportsmanship, emphasizing the importance of discipline, hard work and perseverance in achieving success. Indian School Bousher proudly claimed the position of runner-up in the illustrious Ambassador’s Trophy, while Indian School Muscat emerged as the champions, triumphantly lifting the revered ‘Ambassador’s Cup 2025’.
His Excellency, in a moment of grandeur, bestowed the esteemed Ambassador’s Trophy upon the deserving champions. Dr. Sivakumar Manickam felicitated the champions of the athletics events, honouring their indomitable spirit and presenting them with medals that celebrated their exceptional prowess. As the event concluded, the Assistant Head Girl of the Senior Section expressed heartfelt gratitude, followed by a moving rendition of India’s National Anthem. Undoubtedly, the occasion stood as a shining testament to the boundless potential and exceptional talent of the children, leaving both participants and the audience with an uplifted spirit, eagerly anticipating the return of the distinguished Ambassador’s Trophy in the coming year.
